A final girl is a trope of the final surviving character in horror media, usually a movie. Examples include Laurie Strode from Halloween, Ellen Ripley from Alien, and Sidney Prescott from Scream.
The Final Girl game is a solo game where the player takes on the role of a final girl attempting to overcome a vicious villain. The game is highly thematic and provides a mix-and-match style allowing one to mimic the original movies/stories, or build your own. For example, one could play as Ellen Ripley against Michael Meyers in fairytale forest (with the right expansions).
The story I wrote is fan fiction for everyone who loves the final girl trope or horror fiction. You don’t need to know the game to enjoy the story, though there are call-outs to it. The basic premise is “What if four teenage girls survived a horrific, supernatural encounter then found each other online? And what if their nightmare wasn’t over?”
I’ll publish one chapter over the days in October, removing everything in early November. A total of 13 chapters will comprise the entire story. Each chapter will be about a 5 – 10 minute read.
If you enjoyed these chapters, consider purchasing the game or checking out the rest of this site. I’m a published author in multiple anthologies and an indie novelist. If you like horror fiction, I recommend these anthologies which contain my stories: Moonlight and Claws, Havok Casting Call , Who’s the Monster, and Don’t Go in the Water. And here’s a short story, more comedy than horror: Victor Solves a Mystery.
