The Department of Extraordinary Emigration and Delivery (DEED) is a paranormal novel of espionage, adventure, and legendary creatures. It published on May 29, 2025. Order on Amazon here.

Legendary creatures—called mythicals—exist. They remain hidden from humankind. Rebecca Eidelweiss is a secret agent in charge of overseeing mythicals safety. With her ability to transform from a centaur to human woman, she travels around the globe on assignment to rescue mythicals from danger.
The Department of Extraordinary Emigrant and Delivery (DEED) employs and equips Rebecca for her adventures. When the department alerts Rebecca to a Venezuelan cartel who is kidnapping and exploiting mythicals, Rebecca wants the mission. Yet, DEED won’t assign her after she makes a critical mistake.

But her employers aren’t going to stop her. Rebecca will take on the cartel herself whether DEED sanctions it or not. But when she arrives, events turn quickly against her. Rebecca must overcome her biases to bring down the evil organization, but in doing so, she will have to give up what she holds most dear.
The premise of DEED should appeal to readers of The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher and the InCryptid series by Seanan McGuire. The novel is a clean, adult novel of 228 pages (60,000 words). The novel has a main mission but also side assignments filled with thrilling encounters and dangerous situations.

Not sure yet? How about a short story with Rebecca as a main character. Purchase Trouble Comes in Threes, an anthology of re-imagining The Three Little Pigs in exciting and very different ways. My story, “Higpins” is included. It’s representative of the style/form of DEED and serves as a sequel to the novel.
DEED has been receiving wonderful reviews from people I don’t know. Some quotes are: “I found this fun to read.” and “[Rebecca] is a great strong character who has determination and fight.” and “I found DEED to be delightful and action packed.” DEED is 265 pages as a paperback and is a standalone. If you decide to read it, a review/recommendation on Amazon, Goodreads, or Bookbub would be most welcome!
If you have a subscription to Havok (at gohavok.com), you also have access to other short stories in the DEED world, often featuring Rebecca. Go to the website, then Find a Story. Choose Stories by Author or Keyword and then scroll to about the middle of the page to find By Story World. The listing should be in alphabetical order. Choose DEED.

“April Snow Showers,” “Honor Among Spies,” and “Wildlife Rescue” are new stories set in the DEED world.
Happy reading.
